KESHAW McARTHUR is an award-winning architectural practice founded in 2014 by Katrina Keshaw and Xuan McArthur Nguyen, upon gaining experience on a broad range of scales and typologies in the field of architecture in both New Zealand and Japan.

The works of the office span residential new builds and alterations, multi-residential, commercial new builds and reuse, as well as civic and cultural projects for local clients as well as those based abroad. In recent years, the practice has also developed furniture and product design for reputable local and international brands.

KESHAW McARTHUR endeavors to explore the ever-changing relationship between architecture, people and the environment. Through experimentation, spontaneity and suggestion, they produce work that embodies a sense of place and exchange. Each project offers an opportunity to expand this dialogue while developing new interpretations of past building fundamentals. Projects are designed to consider the natural and metaphysical elements with thoughtful consideration to the nuances of siting and relationship to dwelling.

There is a resonance with the changing environment in the inherent qualities of the work - a reduction of architecture to its essense - with projects firmly rooted in a dialogue of spatial fields and the passage of time.

The office uses digital tools in combination with material testing, model-making and handcraft to achieve their vision.

KESHAW McARTHUR is a New Zealand Institute of Architects Registered Practice.
